is a Nashville-based indie-rock duo made up of Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber - two guys that never take anything too seriously and want to make sure everyone is always having fun.
I was able to hang out with the guys of Cherub a few hours before their NYC stop of their tour at Playstation Theater and I don't think these two could be any more down-to-earth. When I met Jordan and Jason, they both greeted me with hugs and immediately welcomed me into their tour bus. I met their adorable little road dog - a Frenchie named George - and they gave me a brief tour of the bus. We laughed and goofed around as they posed for photos and joked with some of the people passing by Times Square. These guys are definitely as much fun as you'd think they are.
The crowd was one of the more interesting crowds I've seen at a show in NYC. Most of them in costume - one guy told me he was on *mind-altering substances* and I don't think he was the only one, judging by the number of show goers laying on the couches in the hallway after the opening act.
Cherub mostly played songs from their latest album, Bleed Gold, Piss Excellence
, which all have the Cherub sound with more groovy dance vibes. But they didn't leave out their older hits like "Monogamy," "XOXO" and "Freaky Me, Freaky You." They brought a little old school funk to the dance music scene and everyone loved it.
Of course, the night ended with "Doses & Mimosas" and all the zombies from the hallways ran to the main floor, whipped out their phones and recorded 10-seconds of credibility to send out to the world of Snapchat. Cherub's energy was nonstop from when I met them in their tour bus until they walked off the stage. Cherub definitely knows how to throw a party.
