Baeble First Play: The Sheepdogs Tackle The Kinks

    We've been pretty vocal for the last year or so about our support for Canadian retro-rockers The Sheepdogs. I even wrote an op-ed about a month ago about why they should be your new favorite band if you have a deep love of 60s/70s Southern rock. Their fifth studio album, Future Nostalgia, was released in October of last year, and it was easily one of the best straight forward rock albums of 2015.

    And we're stoked to have the exclusive premiere of their cover of The Kinks' "The Contenders" from a session with Guitar Center. The band talks about the way that bands like the Kinks and the Stones tackling American music inspired them (as Canadians) to put their own outsider's perspective on Southern rock which of course makes it fitting that they take a Kinks classic and turn it into a recognizably Sheepdogs rock jam.
