Green Day Played a Surprise Underground Show In Sydney

    In our recent '20 Albums Turning 20' post, we commemorated Green Day's iconic 1994 release Dookie. Twenty years, eight albums, and a Broadway production since, and it seems as though Billie Joe Armstrong and crew have finally come full circle and are returning to their roots. Last night in Sydney, Australia, the group performed a secret, surprise set at a little pub venue called The Captian Hook Hotel, a gig that could have easily fit in any early 90s basement or VFW hall.



    In addition to a few classics, the band reportedly tested some new material on the small Aussie crowd. Watch the group perform Dookie's "Longview" on an attendee's shaky phone cam below.
