Misterwives, through their song "Hurricane," put forward a song for anyone looking to kick back to something both catchy and dance-y. The song is all about doing what one wants. It's about spending time with people who will influence your life in a positive way and gutting out all the negativity. As far as universal messages go, it's a pretty good one!

"Hurricane" continues Misterwives streak of high quality production, and Mandy Lee's voice continues to sound clean at the forefront of well put-together, layered choruses. The song has some nice growth into a booming synth chorus that agrees with the ears, and a beat that sticks with you after the song ends. Little subtleties of the song, like the drum kit and guitar tunes give the song a bit of an 80s throwback kick, while still maintaining a clean-cut and contemporary sound.

The lyric video directed by Sarah Winters has some nice animation work, using both real-life stills of paper for some stop-motion to create an always-interesting stop-motion effect. Visual puns abound, it flows very nicely as a visual element to the song.
