I think we're all still recovering from the amazingness that was the SNL 40th Anniversary Special last Sunday. That being said, last night's late night lineup had some fantastic performances that certainly helped fill the void.
L.A. group Grizfolk
made their network television debut with Letterman, treating the audience to a performance of "Hymnals," a track off of their new EP From The Spark
. Their playing was near flawless, the groove was tight, and the vocals were on point; these guys have serious talent. Even the often times underwhelmed Letterman seemed impressed, exclaiming "That was wonderful," and stealing one of the drummer's sticks. Baeble was lucky enough to catch Grizfolk front row at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn for a photo session/show write up
recently. And check out our exclusive interview
with the guys for a closer look at what makes them tick.
Over on The Tonight Show
beautifully soulful singer Ella Henderson
performed her platinum hit "Ghost," off of her debut album Chapter One
. She may be from across the pond, but Henderson seemed right at home rocking out with The Roots in New York. Her powerful voice filled studio 6B and had the late night listeners grooving in their seats.
Meanwhile on Jimmy Kimmel Live
, pop-country veterans Rascal Flatts
rocked the house with a performance of the song "Riot," off of their new album Rewind
. The yearning ballad sounded polished and emotional, just what you'd expect from a group with so many years in the industry. They'll be kicking off a huge tour on February 25th starting in Vegas. Make sure you check it out!
