22-year-old singer, Lucy Dacus
, speaks about finding peace with being incomplete and being comfortable with death in her latest single titled "Next Of Kin." Opening with a storming drumbeat, this track isn't what you first expect it to be. Her melodic vocals and honest lyrics cut through and add the perfect story line to the track, making it easy to understand what she's trying to convey. It is said that she drew inspiration from her anxiety to help her write a "positive song" about finding peace in not achieving everything in life. She had this to say of the track: "It's a song about accepting fate, forgetting fear, and allowing yourself to be incomplete always".
Dacus has already shared two new tracks: "Night Shift" and "Addictions" which are off her new album Historian
, coming out March 2nd through Matador Records. Following the record's release, she will be touring the UK starting in April. You can see her upcoming UK dates below.
