Tinashe Has Your V-Day Booty Call Jam With 'Faded Love'

Just in time for your Valentine's Day (or Galentine's Day if that's how you roll) Tinashe has teamed up with Future to drop a sultry, electro-R&B track named "Faded Love". The duo previously teamed up in 2014 on the track "How Many Times", from Tinashe's debut LP Aquarius.

Tinashe quickly sets the stage for a one-night stand with her opening verse as she croons, "No don't give me your name, no I don't need your number saved in my phone, just follow me, follow me, follow me, follow me home." Production duo Stargate, who have done work for the likes of Pink and Sia, craft a tense and sensual atmosphere via washy, ethereal synths and muted bass lines, a perfectly unobtrusive framework for Tinashe to move through with seductive ease and elegance. The lyrics say "booty call", but the track captures the essence of something more passionate than just a fling.

Credit should be given to Future for not trying to overwhelm the track with star power or clout. Instead, he plays to the track's level, soaking in the progressive R&B sounds and turning in a performance that's appropriately subdued for a bedroom jam. If you're looking for something to set the mood this week, but just can't stomach hooking up to another Drake playlist, "Faded Love" has the intimacy you need without the posturing you don't.

"Faded Love" is Tinashe's second single of 2018, following the release of "No Drama" in January. The singer teased both songs in a recent Instagram post, along with a third single that is still on the way. Joyride, her upcoming third EP, currently does not have a release date, but should come shortly after the release of the third single.
