After last releasing America back in 2012, prolific electronic musician Dan Deacon has been fairly quiet few. Now, nearly three years later the release of his new solo albumGliss Riffer is set to drop February 24th. In anticipation of the album, Deacon has just dropped his second single, "Learning To Relax."
"Learning To Relax" is a beat heavy number with attacking drums and clashing synthesizers. The multi-layering of vocals has created an impossibly catchy melody that will stay stuck in your head as you go about your day. The lyrics are difficult to understand, but it appears Deacon is telling someone "I wanna hear your voice." The brightest spot on the track is the mid-song instrumental. An elegant piano riff accompanies vocals samples as the drums slow up to showcase a beautiful soundscape. The song is anything but relaxing. It'll knock your socks off and have you grooving wherever you are.
