In an interview with NPR, Nada Surf's singer Matthew Caws summed up the mission statement the band have tried to put to work for them over the years. "It's never too late for teenage dreams." Perhaps that's how this band of 40-somethings have navigated a road that's lead from initial alt stardom to indie obscurity and back again. Perhaps that's why they have seven albums...the latest which is titled The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy. "When I Was Young" is the band's current single and brings with it a nostalgic visual nod to the teenage philosophy that informs the band.
