For centuries, man has attempted to thwart the threats of nature that like to view our existence as their food source. High up on this list of creatures you may not want to meet in wild are wolves, and our defenses have developed from climbing up trees to banging pots and pans together, or as this wilderness website suggests, "ram your fist down the animal's throat. You will get torn up a bit, but the wolf won't be able to rip up more critical parts of your body". Uh, okay. Well, we have discovered a new, fool-proof way to fend off a wolf attack that won't recquire you to sacrifice your hand: CREED.

Seriously. A 13 year-old Norwegian boy managed to discover this new survival trick last week when he was walking home from school and suddenly found himself surrounded by a pack of wolves. He'd been listening to Creed on his cell phone when they approached, and in a desperate attempt to scare them off, pulled out his head phones and let the wolfies have a listen too. Needless to say, they weren't very impressed. In fact, they decided they'd rather give up a nice mid-afternoon snack than continue listening to Christian rock's Nickleback. Understandable. So next time you're confronted with a wolf, remember this trick! Apparently Creed really can save lives. [via]
