Liking Azealia Banks's music is not easy...mostly because she's one of the most unrepentantly miserable and confrontational people in music this side of Mark Kozelek. She's a vocal homophobe. She's gotten into numerous public physical altercations. She's got beef with everybody. But...when she puts her mind to it, she can put out some of the best hip-hop today
. She just dropped the video for her track, "Count Contessa," and it's definitely no "212," but it finds her expanding her sound to include elements of electronic pop in a lot of interesting ways. It's an undeniable jam. The cheap, "looks like it what was shot in front of cheap green-screen" video isn't as charming, but it's nice to be reminded that beneath all of Banks's endless antagonisms, she's a genuinely talented artist.
