may not be music's biggest power couple—that honor definitely still belongs to Bey and HOV—but they just might be the hardest working and most ambitious. After rumors were FINALLY confirmed that they were a couple, they celebrated by going into the studio and recording the fire track "Motor Sport" featuring the rest of the Migos
crew. And now that the two are engaged, it seems they've decided to release another track in honor of the occasion.
The duo dropped "Um Yea" late last night/early this morning hot on the heels of the success that "Motor Sport" saw. Unlike "Motor Sport", the new track only features Offset and Cardi B and is not associated with the Migos crew, and appears on Quality Control's Control The Streets Volume 1
In typical fashion for the duo, "Um Yea" is aggressive and straightforward, with a bit of a darker atmosphere than "Motor Sport". While the track is a duet, it feels like more of an Offset track with a feature by Cardi B, given the fact that Cardi B only has one verse in the entire track. Regardless, she still brings the no-nonsense, heavily clipped rhythm that blew her up in "Bodak Yellow".
Control The Streets Volume 1
is out today and features a whopping 30 tracks with features such as Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, the Migos crew, Lil Yachty, and Kodak Black. While there's no other word on the Culture 2
beside "Motor Sport", don't be surprised if hip-hop's newest power couple teams up for another round coming soon.
