Sometimes we all need a little motivational boost, and who better to give it to us than our favorite artists? They have become idols within their own industry, be it for their music or personality, and they use their fame to make a positive change. We've compiled a few speeches that we found especially inspirational -- if you watch them, it's guaranteed that your day is going to be that little bit better. Who knows, maybe it'll inspire you to become the next Patti Smith!

    1. Bono

Bono, what a guy. He has continued to awe the world in his humanitarian activism and in this talk he discusses how such activism is actually making a global change. Give it a watch and learn some pretty interesting facts about world poverty.

    2. Yoko Ono

Yoko gives a lecture at Stanford University, talking about her childhood and then going into more detail about the importance of world peace. One of the most admired women in the world for her bravery and experimental art, Yoko Ono could inspire just about anyone to "just imagine peace."

    3. Beyoncé

After her album Lemonade won at the Grammys, Beyoncé gave one of the most memorable acceptance speeches of this decade. Her honesty and passion for the project was evident as was all of her appreciation and honor of winning. You go, Bey!

    4. Kanye West

This 40 minutes speech (a bit long yes, but worth to watch every second) at the Oxford Guild, makes you want to get out there and do anything you want. Kanye's metaphors from the Matrix are strangely so enlightening, with an even weirder sense of reality.

    6. Rihanna

After accepting her honorary award from the Parsons School of Design, Rihanna instead congratulates the students, making them the star of the benefit. She praises them for their bravery "to be different" and shows us that any step we take toward our future is worthy of praise, thank you Rihanna!

    7. Leonard Cohen

Shortly before he passed away, Leonard Cohen spoke about how a Spanish man gave him his ability to make music, just through guitar lessons. This beautiful relationship between these two strangers makes us want to escape to Spain and learn guitar, because maybe we could become just like Leonard Cohen?

    8. Patti Smith

This punk rock queen speaks from a place of artistic honesty in this moving speech for the Louisiana Channel. She says how "being a human being these days is difficult" and Patti, that is too true! Despite this statement, she goes on to say how beautiful life is and she makes us feel proud to be alive, reiterating this motto of "just ride with it!"
