It's a pretty exciting day for Drake
fans. Not only is the Canadian rapper nominated for a bunch of Grammy's - including "Album Of The Year" - but a long-awaited track with Drake and Aaliyah has surfaced online and it's called "Talk Is Cheap" which also features Playa member Static Major.
Back in 2012, Drake released a song called "Enough Said" and it was the first taste of a project he was working on featuring songs recorded by the late, incredible R&B legend, Aaliyah, before she died in the plane crash back in 2001. The project was to make an album made up of re-worked songs Aaliyah recorded before the crash but the project didn't carry out because her family refused to give Drake their blessing.
Thankfully, a new song from the project was unveiled online called "Talk Is Cheap" and it'll make you want more of this vocal collab. The track is a haunting production of Aaliyah's silky, angelic vocals over sultry beats that pair effortlessly with Drakes polished flow.
Drake's album full of reworked and unreleased Aaliyah songs would be absolute gold - but we are glad Drake respected the family's wishes. The rapper did suggest that the posthumous album could still be released by others who had been working on the album with Aaliyah. But until then, we can bask in the R&B goodness of "Talk Is Cheap."
