We've been reading directorial bylines containing the Coppola name for the past 50 years, and that trend doesn't seem to be letting up. Tribeca Film recently announced that it picked up the distribution rights to Gia Coppola's Palo Alto, a feature based on James Franco's book of short stories of the same name. This is the first film for Francis Ford Coppola's granddaughter, and a quick glimpse at its trailer shows us she mirrors her auntie Sophia's opaque, indie-toned dramatic style.

The film follows a group of troublesome teens and stars James Franco as the flirtatious soccer coach and Emma Roberts as his target. The film also stars Val Kilmer and his son Jack. At the helm of Palo Alto's soundtrack is the team of Coppola's cousin and Rooney frontman Robert Schwartzman and Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange), who you'll hear in the trailer below.

Palo Alto is scheduled for a Spring 2014 release.
