Domestic violence isn't new, but often people turn a blind eye to it, make excuses, and sweep the problem under the rug in hopes that one day it will all go away.
Thankfully, Mary J. Blige has faced it head on in her new video for "Whole Damn Year." Shot in black and white, Blige's powerful lyrics, literally describing the effects of what it is to be in a physical and verbally abusive relationship, are played out between couples, spotlighting the stark reality of what happens behind closed doors everyday.
