Hamilton Leithauser + Rostam - "A 1000 Times"
This has been one of my favorite songs since I Had A Dream That You Were Mine was released and it only gets better with each listen. I fell more in love with it this week when I came home for the holidays and my mom and I had one too many glasses of wine and ended up singing it at the top of our lungs together. I'm a sucker for longing, raspy vocals and rolling drums.
Mothica - "Reputation"
Mothica is a NYC-based vocalist that doesn't get enough credit. This song was produced by Icarus Moth and is built around the bouncing bass and gorgeous vocals from Mothica. Icarus actually plays keyboard in Mothica's live band. This song makes me feel full-hearted and giddy and I can't stop listening to it.
Ryan Adams - "To Be Without You"
Oh, I love a good Ryan Adams song. This track is off his upcoming album Prisoner and it's an acoustic track that makes me want to drive down the Pacific Coast Highway while I'm home and roll all of my windows down to smell the salty air. There aren't many Ryan Adams songs that I dont get goosebumps to while listening. The sweeping guitar and Adams' vocals give the song a total Cat Stevens vibe and I love it.
Ryan Hemsworth - "Holy"
If any of you out there haven't seen Ryan Hemsworth live, please do it. He's an incredibly amazing producer and this song proves it. He's talented, personable, and addicting. This song is ridiculously chill and one of those "whatever the mood" songs. Ryan Hemsworth is a rad producer who works in some pretty floaty synths.
NAO - "So Good"
Honestly, this song doesn't get enough credit as it deserves. Whenever I think, "Hmmm... what should I listen to right now?", this song always comes to mind. It's perfect for working out, bathing, commuting - everything. NAO has been on tour a lot in 2016 so let's hope she continues to tour through the new year.
Tom Misch - "The Journey"
Um, talk about a funky, amazing, guitar-driven track. Tom Misch never ceases to amaze me. This song reminds me of when youre at wedding reception and the bride walks in the room and everyone is left speechless and dumbfounded. It's chill, atmospheric, and completely airy and I love it.
Post Malone - "No Option"
Off of Post Malone's debut LP, "No Option" is one of my favorite tracks. The glistening synths and Malone's surprisingly emotional vocals... What's not to love?
J. Cole - "Foldin Clothes"
I love how J. Cole really finds joy in the simple things, like drinking almond milk and literally folding laundry. It's refreshing.
Elvis Presley - "Can't Help Falling In Love"
I can listen to this song and pretend I have a boyfriend, right?
Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams"
A classic. This song comes on and I instantly forget about all of my worries.
Fiona Apple - "Paper Bag"
I've been listening to this song on repeat for about a month now. It's one of those songs I always have phases with and come back to. The lyrical content, plus Apple's voice of course, is all just too good.
The Weeknd - "I Feel It Coming (Ft. Daft Punk)"
Yeah guys, make all the fun you want, but I'm STILL listening to this song. I think it's another one that will never get old... So fresh.
