What do you get when you cross a John Wayne version of the Old West and a dance band from Brooklyn? You get this, Canyon Candy, a short film inspired by the frontier from the duo Javelin. The band provided the soundtrack that perfectly compliments the stylized images on screen. The songs are moody and visceral, and when played in juxtaposition to Mexican stand-offs and some Reservoir Dogs-style ear cutting, creates a powerful little movie. The duo crafted these songs while touring the west with Yeasayer, citing the visual landscape as inspiration. Well done, guys.

The full length Canyon Candy album will be coming out soon. Do yourself a favor and add to your procrastination time at work today, and check out the 16 minute Canyon Candy.
