The FADER and YouTube Music have come together again for yet another wonderful mini documentary: See in Blue
with London singer-songwriter, Dua Lipa
. In this new mini doc, we see the pop singer in the studio, meeting fans on the street, and old home footage of her singing when she was a young child in London. It's not just about her music, but it's also about who Dua Lipa is as an artist. Fans get to discover her creative identity.
"I'm scared because at the end of the day this represents me and no one else," says Dua Lipa. "If you take away all the production it's just the bones of the proper soul." She also talks about quitting her restaurant job when she finally got signed to a label, and the surreal-ness of going into the studio for work every day. While taking hints of J. Cole and hints of Nelly Furtado, she combines her influences to make one great R&B inspired-pop song.
