Yo La Tengo Is Really Into This Tree

A few weeks ago, during a weeknight's consumption of the Netflix documentary library (it's like reading, but easier to fall asleep), I finally caught the amazing Parking Lot Movie about a group of existential parking lot attendants at the University of Virginia. You're probably asking yourself how this is in any way relevant to the headline of this post, but wait!

One of the major storytellers in this doc was the one and only Jim McNew, aka the bassist of Yo La Tengo! Exciting right?

Alright well, in other, more salient news, Yo La Tengo recently shared a new song and music video off their forthcoming album, Fade, called "Ohm." The song tracks a time-lapse of an enormous tree, and if you're wondering why the weather is so ominous, it's in Portland!

This is the same tree that's pictured on the cover of Fade, which is also shown in the video of the album's first single, "Before We Run."

Fade is due out January 15 via Matador.
