Here's the thing about being a songwriter for other performers. The songs that you're writing with a specific artist in mind aren't always necessarily something that you'll be able to perform yourself if said artist rejects your tune. Grimes got lucky with "Go" which she wrote for Rihanna. It fits naturally into her repertoire. Sia doesn't seem to be as fortunate. She just released "Cheap Thrills," a track also intended for Rihanna. And while I could hear the tropical vibes of the track working for the Caribbean pop icon, it all sounds weird coming from the super white Sia. But maybe that's just us.
