Laura Marling Announces New Album Short Movie And Drops First Video

    The pale etherial flower that is English folk-singer Laura Marling has announced her fifth album Short Film. The twenty-four year old former member of Noah and the Whale is one of the bright young stars of the English folk scene. Having come up playing in the same London clubs as Mumford & Sons, with whom she's often associated due to her former romantic relationship with Marcus Mumford, she's been grinding out immense amounts of string-picking musings on lovers, love, and life's simple complications.

    Her forthcoming album Short Movie was announced today via the release of the video for it's title track. The track has a gentle urgency to it, and Marling's sometimes husky, always sharp vocals pace it perfectly. In the video delicate animated watercolors dance swiftly towards the finale, reminiscent of a sketchbook version of the children's book animation in Coldplay's choose your own adventure video for "Ink".
