is making some pretty incredible stuff leading up to the release of her forthcoming mixtape, Pop2.
First we got "Boys," the literally boy-filled, somber pop track (and video) that featured instantly-iconic video game beeps, then the fast-paced "Out Of My Head" featuring ALMA and Tove Lo, amongst a few others. Her latest is "I Got It" featuring Brooke Candy, CupcakKe, and Pabllo Vittar. Most of her bubblegum pop songs lean slightly into art pop territory, and this just might be the most experimental one yet. Intense percussion is distorted with added thumps and disorienting vocal effects. The way that everyone's voices mix together makes the listener feel extra woozy. It's over the top and with all of the different Arca-inspired sounds and languages, it's almost cartoonish.
Charli may have made it on the radio with "Boom Clap" but it looks like she's going down a different path on Pop2,
