Back in June, we released our Best Collaborations of 2017 (So Far). Well we're here to finish the "So Far" part of that, because guess what? The year's almost over!
There's nothing like hearing your favorite artists team up to make killer music. Everyone has their own collaboration wishes, and I can happily say that many of mine have come true this year. Have yours? Take a look at 10 of the best collaborations from 2017, and decide your personal favorites.
1. "Doves In the Wind" - SZA feat. Kendrick Lamar
When you put Kendrick Lamar and SZA together, you can only expect greatness. And they've achieved that on this explicit track off of Ctrl. SZA smoothly sings about sexual freedom and Kendrick effortlessly spits out words over a woozy loop. The two couldn't complement each other better.
2. "Out of My Head" - Charli XCX feat. Tove Lo and ALMA
Released just last week, this pump-up track will make you want to dance, dance, and dance. The electro-pop sound is incredibly cohesive; these ladies are a flawless combination. They've created magic that'll have you listening over and over until you're out of your head.
3. "Sky Walker" - Miguel feat. Travis Scott
Don't you love this chill banger? Miguel sounds as sultry as ever, and Travis Scott is the perfect complement. It's R&B/Hip Hop glory, a major hit.
4. "See You Again" - Tyler, The Creator feat. Kali Uchis
Off of Flower Boy, Uchis' breathy voice sounds superb. The song is a little sad, but still has a driving beat. Her thoughtful verses contrast with the more pulsating aspects of the song, creating a multi-dimensional track.
5. "Across the Room" - ODESZA feat. Leon Bridges
A Moment Apart features some amazing collaborations, and this is one of the best. Leon has a bluesy-soulful voice that sits beautifully on top of this spacey EDM track. Pair topnotch vocals with innovative production and you're bound to get something great.
6. "MotorSport" - Migos, Nicki Minaj & Cardi B
Three of the biggest names in hip-hop join together for a fierce five minutes. They all show off their distinctive styles in this burning track.
7. "Break Apart" - Rhye
This pairing is an impeccable fit. It feels like a real collaboration, in that no-one's specific sound was compromised--yet it still feels unified. Bonobo's album Migration has a rooted, tribal feel that suits Rhye's vibe perfectly, and they sound breathtaking. It's heaven.
8. "Firefly" - Mura Masa feat. NAO
Mura Masa made some undeniable bangers with his debut self-titled album, and this one is certainly a standout. NAO's flighty voice melds effortlessly with glinting percussive sounds. The duo has made a uniquely funky track.
DJ Khaled has a plethora of wonderful features off of Grateful, from Justin Bieber to Alicia Keys to Nas. This star-studded track will have you bouncing up and down. Beyoncé and Jay Z are a power couple, and their energy here is infectious.
10. "Heavy" - Linkin Park feat. Kiiara
The "Gold" star joins this legendary group in this flourishing song. Kiiara takes a lot of influence from Linkin Park, so it's cool to see them pair up. The song itself is powerful and cathartic, as they ask "Why is everything so heavy?"
