The Pogues "Fairytale of New York", a classic Christmas song with the crippling power to seize the tear ducts of any full-grown man. Not since Shane MacGowan and Kirsty MacColl first exposed us to their beautifully poignant banter back in 1987 has a group provided a just cover. This was so, until last night's episode of Fallon where Iron and Wine's Sam Beam, Glen Hansard, and Kathleen Edwards performed a stunning rendition of the song with Calexico as their backing band. Watch the clip below, and be sure to keep a box of Kleenex nearby.
