In 2012, Grimes came out with Visions, an album which was met by both critical and commercial success. This year's highly anticipated follow-up, Art Angels did not disappoint the many fans she has accrued since Visions' release. The new album finds the Canadian pop producer/songwriter blasted into the mainstream consciousness, the subject of a Fader cover story and with it, a mini documentary. In the documentary, Claire Boucher discusses what it means to be Grimes and the other personas (or "Art Angels") she channeled into the new LP, her work ethic of why Grimes is more than a brand, and even Skypes with Taiwanese rapper Aristophanes, who was featured on the single "Scream." If you weren't already head over heels for Grimes the performer, this documentary will give you a little taste of the likeable person behind the music and the voice that is so uniquely her own.
