Smashing single, to VMA performance, to a video featuring the monkey look-alike from old Nickelodeon TV show credits (yeah, "Paul,") to a Beyonce feature. Coldplay is on a war-path to take over our radios. "Hymn For The Weekend" was debuted on Annie Mac's BBC 1 radio, and just like the song suggests, we do feel drunk and high. Perhaps we're still lethargic from turkey and beer, but this song just does something to us.
Slightly less colorful than "Adventure Of A Liftetime," maybe we're just not used to Coldplay being the group paired with a potential club anthem. "Hymn For The Weekend" is a mellow melodrama with a glossy coat, thanks to none other than Queen Bey. This one is for that long, slow drive home, where the city lights blur and mesh together in the distance.
