Bright Eyes has announced the release date for what may well be their final album. Having announced in a Rolling Stone interview some time ago that he would be retiring Bright Eyes after one final album, Conor Oberst seems set to deliver on that promise. The new album will be titled The People's Key and is slated for release on February 15th, 2011 on Saddle Creek. Check out the full 10-song tracklisting below.

If Bright Eyes is indeed finished, they'll be going out with a bang: in addition to the album release, the group has announced two very special concerts to promote it. One will take place March 9th at New York's historic Radio City Music Hall, while the other will take place June 23rd at London's equally historic Royal Albert Hall. Presale for both shows begins on December 1st — I wouldn't wait if you have any intention of going.

Since the release of Bright Eyes' last album, 2007's Cassadega, Conor Oberst has been releasing material under his own name backed by the Mystic Valley Band and has participated in the Monsters of Folk project with M. Ward and My Morning Jacket's Jim James. -peter menniti
