Transviolet loves their fans back, too. "The most rewarding part of being a musician," lead singer Sarah McTaggart told us in an interview before the show, "is when I get to connect with fans. Just being at a show and performing, and I'm sitting here in a city I've never been to, singing, and I have people I've never met singing the lyrics back to me… Like, I feel this way and so do you."
If you haven't listened to Transviolet yet, and are worried that your playlist rotation is too heavy with indie pop sound, consider this: Transviolet's lyrics tend to be on the self-deprecating, narrative, and analytical side of the spectrum, making them yards deeper than the typical pop song. If you need further convincing, check out McTaggart's dance moves (and high notes) in the video above.
Transviolet's sound has range, too, with their set at Industry City starting with the bubbly, hopeful "Night Vision" and ending with the hard-rocking "Pretty Head", which somehow sounds even more impressive live than on their recently released EP, Kaleidoscope.
