"I've been lonely, come hang / joy is slipping away," Jeremy Zucker
sings at the beginning of his song, "end." It's desperate and melancholic -- it tears at the heartstrings, and the accompanying video, premiering here today, does just the same.
As the 21 year old bedroom producer from suburban New Jersey sings about losing faith, somber synths swell while the crisp beat thumps slowly. The video begins with a woman taking a shower and then follows her as she gets out and films her boyfriend sleeping (it's way less creepy when you watch it yourself). The rest of the video switches back and forth between her camera's POV and we see the couple do cute things together like hike in scenic mountains and run through fields of flowers.
"'end' was written on an exceptionally overcast day in London and is about finding a tiny thread of hope amidst feelings of frustration and despondence," said the singer.
The song is off of Zucker's new EP idle,
out now via Republic Records.
