Have you missed AWOLNATION
frontman's Aaron Bruno's soft, gentle voice? Because he just dropped a killer new single, and you're probably going to be hearing quite a bit of it. The song is "Seven Sticks of Dynamite", a track that pares down the band's sound to an acoustic guitar before building up to include an electric guitar solo, drums, a dramatic, resounding chorus, and Bruno's characteristic screams.
The single will be on AWOLNATION's upcoming album, Here Comes the Runts,
due out February of next year. Last month the band released a lyric video for another song that will appear on the album, "Passion". In an interview with Billboard earlier this year
, Bruno mentioned that the new album will be a pop/rock 'n' roll fusion, in the vein of Tom Petty or the Cars. This apparently means breaking away from digitally constructed music and leaving a bit more up to traditional instruments. Judging from "Seven Sticks of Dynamite" this does not seem to change the typical high energy and emotion that AWOLNATION is known for.
After the album's release, AWOLNATION hits the road in North America and Europe for three months, kicking off their tour in Toronto on February 11, 2018.
