's 2016 was eventful, full of mysterious delays and an eventual return to the spotlight with the release of his acclaimed second studio album Blonde
(and the visual album Endless
). Moving into 2017, you'd expect a massive tour for Ocean to bring his new music to the world. But Frank Ocean doesn't do it the way you expect. His first performances since 2014 will instead be at various 2017 festivals beginning in May. Confirmed appearances include Hangout in Alabama, Sasquatch! in Washington state, Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Northside in Denmark, and Lovebox in London. Unconfirmed rumors are also floating around that Ocean may be headlining New York's Panorama Festival.
Is Frank too lazy to set up a tour in support of Blonde
, or does he just not want to? It's pretty clear we don't know what goes on in this man's beautiful mind. It's also clear that he can headline anywhere he wants anytime he wants. You want to make a world tour solely out of festivals, Mr. Ocean? Go right ahead. Lovebox has yet to release any other names on the lineup (keep in mind it is a festival
) but the first two rounds of tickets sold out within hours anyways. Knowing Ocean's recent history of reclusiveness, we can assume it's a good idea (if not a necessity) to go see him if you have the slightest chance. Dates and festival sites are below.
