is out with the fourth single, "Call It What You Want," off of her upcoming album Reputation
out November 10th. The single comes after previous bad singles "Look What You Made Me Do," "...Ready For It?" and "Gorgeous."
In comparison to the last few songs, this one's definitely the best of the bunch. It's the least petty and vengeful - finally T Swift is admitting that she messed up with all this bad blood shit ("All the liars are calling me one / Nobody's heard from me for months") and focuses on the one positive relationship she can count on. Presumably about her current beau, Joe Alwyn, the song lets us in to glimpse at a more personal side of Swift, which is nice. However, it still feels like a b-side that never made it onto 1989.
I mean, it's essentially 2014's "You Are In Love" with recycled lyrics from "Wildest Dreams." "My baby's fit like a daydream ... My baby's fly like a jet stream"? C'mon.
It's definitely a step in the right direction, but it's still exhausting to listen to.
