Foxygen has announced their new album Hang, and released its groovy lead single, "Follow the Leader," along with a music video for it (directed by Cameron Dutra). In it, Sam France leads a bunch of backup dancers through a park while Jonathan Rado jams away on a keyboard and guitar. Personally, I was expecting Mr. T to approach them half way through to warn them about drugs and bullying. Yeah, it has that kind of 80's feeling to it, but that's what makes it so fun to watch. It's goofy. It's care-free. There are nothing but good vibes coming from this song.

If you've also listened to "America," their October single that will also be on the album, then you'll know what kind of sound to expect. All the songs on Hang are accompanied by a forty-plus-piece orchestra conducted by Trey Pollard. They also collaborated with Lemon Twigs (Brian and Michael D'Addario) and Steven Drozd from the Flaming Lips on it. After listening to this song, I'm definitely eager to hear more when Hang comes out on January 20th.

The album is available for pre-order now. All digital pre-orders come with instant downloads of both "America" and "Follow the Leader," but the first 50 will also receive autographed sheet music from Foxygen's recording sessions.
