The nominees for the 2018 Grammy Awards were just released today, and we've never been so happy to read such a lengthy list. Everyone's favorites were nominated of course - Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars - but in addition to that, a ton of Baeble favorites were chosen. Since a handful of artists we've worked with have been nominated and we feel like proud parents, we thought we'd guide you through who they are and why we're rooting for them.

    1. Childish Gambino

Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best R&B Song, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best Urban Contemporary Album

Our session with Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover, goes way back. All the way back to 2011 actually, when he modestly performed at NYC's Rockwood Music Hall in support of his album Camp. Now look at him -- nominated for five Grammys thanks to 2016's "Awaken, My Love!". We also made it one of our top 5 albums of the year... Called it.

    2. Kaleo

    Best Rock Performance

If you are in the market for some new rock music, turn to Kaleo. Seriously, this is one bad ass, soulful act hailing all the way from Iceland. Iceland! Their song "No Good" off of their album A/B was nominated for Best Rock Performance, and we'll never forget the session we shot with them just last year at Atlantic Records.

    3. Portugal. The Man

    Best Pop Duo/Group Performance

Speaking of bands that come from far away, Portugal. The Man is from Alaska, and their hit song "Feel It Still" was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Not only do we have a session from a few years back with the band, but I personally had the chance to interview them earlier this year (below). Not just saying this, but they were one of the most memorable and fun interviews I've conducted. How often do you get to ask someone about being saved by a bear?

    4. Zedd

    Best Pop Duo/Group Performance

Zedd was nominated this year for his single "Stay" with Alessia Cara, so we were pretty excited to flash back to this awesome interview we released with him in 2015. During his True Colors Tour, we sat down with him right before his headlining show at Madison Square Garden. Pretty cool.

    5. Mansionair

    Best Dance Recording

We filmed Mansionair's set during our SXSW showcase when they were performing their sultry electro-pop songs "Hold Me Down," "I Don't Know About You," "Mirrors," and more. As of late, they were featured along with WYNNE on Odesza's song "Line Of Sight" off the duo's album A Moment Apart -- and now it just might earn them a Grammy.

    6. Mura Masa

Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best Recording Packaging

This up-and-coming UK producer is coming up fast. He just released his self-titled debut album which features some high profile collaborations, and now it's up for a Grammy. Not only did we get to interview him about it, but we also dove into the history of his young career, which you can watch below.

    7. The War On Drugs

    Best Rock Album

We really love The War On Drugs over here at Baeble. We loved them ever since 2012 when we shot their show at The Mohawk, which you can watch HERE, and when A Deeper Understanding came out, we were even more in love, somehow. Of course it's nominated for Best Rock Album!

    *UPDATED 11/29*

    8. K.Flay

Best Rock Song, Best Engineered Album Non-Classical

Not sure how we missed this one, but one of our favorite singer-rapper hybrids, K.Flay, also earned two nominations - one for best rock song, and one for best engineered album, for Every Where Is Some Where, which she mastered. We've been longtime supporters of K.Flay, and the concert we have with her from The Phoenix is one that should not be missed!
