The holidays are not only a great time for girls who love makeup and boys who love video games, but it's also a splendid time for music fans who want to get their hands on exclusive, rare specials from their favorite artists. Around this time, musicians of all genres gift their fans with special releases of vinyl, or exclusive holiday themed merch (Beyonce
's "Slay Bells" sweater is on the top of my list). So before you sit on Santa's lap, prep a list of these merch must-haves this holiday season.
1. Frank Ocean
This past Friday, Frank Ocean
continued his 24 hour Black Friday tradition by offering a single item on his blonded.co
website -- a hoodie that reads "worldnet." He posted more about the collaboration on his Tumblr
, "BLESS WORLDNET. I FOUND OUT THEY MADE A HOODIE, I WEAR IT. HAHA, I MEAN I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TELL YOU."
Following his Black Friday sale now comes his Cyber Monday sale (which is today, so that means you gotta go fetch some stuff ASAP). He's selling a physical edition of Endless
(vinyl and CD) for the first time, which comes with holographic artwork and two double-sided posters of Ocean. The sale ends today at midnight EST, so… hurry.
2. Daft Punk
Daft Punk have returned with their holiday merch -- this time giving some old favorites an update. Sure they have your basic stuff like t-shirts and sweatshirts, but why stop there? The legendary electronic duo are also offering some serious seasonal treats like snow globes, belt buckles, candles, puzzles, ornaments, skateboards, pens, and varsity jackets. You can see all of those items HERE
What kind of merch list would this be without Beyonce's instantly iconic holiday line? Sure, Daft Punk has snow globes and Frank Ocean has super exclusive vinyl, but Queen Bey wins for one liners. C'mon -- "SLAY Bells," "Sis The Season," "Have a THICC Holiday"? Who wouldn't want a shirt that says "Yoncé" on it! See the full shop HERE
4. Any and all festival merch
Although it may seem kind of corny, it's kind of perfect. Ever go to Coachella or Governors Ball and see a really cute festival hoodie but then you think to yourself "eh, I can't really buy a festival hoodie for $100 right now"? Well, there's a pretty good chance that a lot of these festivals offer some discounts for Cyber Monday. So now you can relive your summer fantasies in the dead of winter! Get 'em while they're cheap! Gov Ball
is offering a sale, as well as The Meadows
