It's hard not to be a little obsessed with Happy Lives new single, "Marry Me." The Brooklyn based art pop duo, Mike Lande and Julian Beel, have seamlessly captured an austere rap style, reminiscent of Mickey Avalon, with gritty vocals, and low-tempo beats with a droning heavy base line.
We're stoked to premiere their new video, which has the camera set tight and steady on Lande as he effortlessly dishes up the lyrics with a DGAF attitude. Shot with a PhotoBooth thermal effect feel, an animated version of a dancing dude (perhaps Lande?) cuts in and out.
Keep an eye out for more from Happy Lives, since according to Lande, ""Ariana Grande wants me to write her a love song."
