The 10 Worst Musician to Actor Crossovers

Here we have a list of the worst times musicians tried to act. They may be amazing in their designated field but when put into an acting role, they seem to fall a bit short. We're not going to hold it against them, but we can definitely laugh at these ridiculous attempts.

    1. Eminem (8 Mile)

Eminem's starring role in his autobiographical feature is somewhat disappointing. Instead of getting him to star in his own role, they should have maybe hired someone else. Just sayin'. His blunt, almost monotone, performance is dull and extremely boring to watch.

    2. Taylor Swift (Valentines Day)

This film utilized a wide range of cast members to create interconnecting storylines, however one of the most cringe worthy characters is by far Taylor Swift's character, Felicia. Her over the top acting and extreme presence ruins her character, giving the whole performance an unnatural feeling.

    3. Christina Aguilera (Burlesque)

Despite this film having a bangin' soundtrack and amazing vocals by both Cher and Christina, it could not shy away from the fact that Christina should stick to singing. Her voice saves her by a long shot and thank goodness she doesn't have too many scenes where she's required to actually act.

    4. Jessica Simpson (Dukes of Hazzard)

A terrible character in the first place, Simpson does what the role asks for, but fails to add a spark of interest. Chosen for her blonde-bombshell looks and not for her acting abilities, this film is genuinely terrible, and it's not all due to Simpson's lack luster performance.

    5. 50 Cent (Get Rich or Die Tryin)

In 50 Cent's attempt to recreate Eminem's 8 mile, we see another rags to riches story that brings nothing new to the table. We see yet again that rappers should not act, even if it is enacting themselves.

    6. Britney Spears (Crossroads)

A cult classic for Britney lovers, whose performance we seem to casually ignore. She fails to develop any sort of connection with the audience, let alone her co-stars. Although the film received terrible reviews, it will remain a classic among young girls, because it's Britney and we love her anyway.

    7. Madonna (Swept Away)

Madonna has experimented with film several times. The one film that seemed to end our pop princess' acting career for good was Swept Away, in which she attempts to embody a rich ungrateful wife. Despite her amazing on stage presence, she just can't seem to convince us on screen.

    8. Kelly Clarkson (From Justin to Kelly)

This film is said to be one of the worst movies ever made, with Kelly and Justin being most at fault. Their lack of chemistry despite being American Idol contestants together is obvious on screen. Even the musical numbers don't do it any justice, Kelly can sing but definitely can't be a movie star.

    9. Rihanna (Battleship)

No matter how much we love Rihanna, we have to accept the fact that she cannot act. Her role in this film by no means added to its quality, as it clearly lacked all of the components needed to make it entertaining. Rihanna was however bad-ass in that uniform wielding that gun (she's Rihanna she can't be that bad…)

    10. Mariah Carey (Glitter)

Oh Mariah, we love you dearly, but Glitter was not great. The music was at least fun, and the narrative was engaging, but Carey's performance was disingenuous and off putting. Her singing of course was awe inspiring as she usually is, so at least there was that to enjoy.
