20-year-old Baeble favorite Melanie Martinez
premiered a joint video for "Soap" and "Training Wheels" off her debut album, Crybaby
. The video begins with Martinez calling for her boyfriend to come over, but when he arrives all he finds is an empty tub with no girlfriend just as the song begins. Her boyfriend, Johnny, bathes confusedly with bubbles and a static television playing images of Martinez all before a toaster lands in Johnny's bath to electrocute him. Martinez is missing from the bath, but appears by the end of the video before it transcends into "Training Wheels," where the couple is laying down in a park for the happier, romantic song that carries on the childhood aesthetic and the vulnerable themes of "Soap," and the entire album. This video ends with Johnny disappearing, when it was her who couldn't be found in the preceding video. Martinez fans surely won't be disappointed with the 8-minute video, and I doubt anyone will be for that matter. See you for yourself here.
