Born in Israel and based in Los Angeles, Dan Farber
first started out as the mastermind behind big pop hits, receiving co-signs from Borgore, Nick Jonas, Nicole Millar, Dizzee Rascals, and D.R.A.M. Now, the producer/multi-instrumentalist is making his solo debut with his single "Time For Living," and we get to premiere it right here today.
"‘Time For Living' comes from a very honest place. Driving to a writing session in Los Angeles the only thing I could think was ‘did I answer all my emails this morning? How's the session gonna go?' Suddenly I realized I was missing a beautiful drive; the sun hitting the mountains, the perfect weather and the fact every morning I wake up and do what I love. ‘I guess the time is now if there's a time for living'. Being 'present' in the moment and grateful for what we have is such an important message so I was bound to write this," Farber told Baeble.
Featuring Boy Matthews, the song is dark, sultry synth-pop at its finest. Between the massive synth drop and seductive vocals, it sounds like what you'd get if you had The Weeknd
score the soundtrack for Drive.
The video even seems to be inspired by Drive,
as it shows a grainy shot of a distraught woman driving a convertible as the lyrics appear as subtitles on the screen.
"The visual is also a big part of the song," Farber continued. "Working with the director, Gigi Ben Artzi, was a dream come true, I'm a big fan of his short films and aesthetics. Gigi brought the concept to life, shooting everything on a 16mm film, giving the song a very cinematic feeling. "
This release is the intro of a three-part video series directed and produced by Artzi. Looks like Farber's already made a pretty big splash in the indie pop scene and we can't wait to see what he gets up to next.
