On stage, The Colourist is a highly caffeinated outfit gushing giddy sounding indie pop anthems while traveling the country with the likes of Metric, The Naked and Famous, and Fitz and The Tantrums. When the band popped by Baeble HQ for a session a few weeks back, we were surprised to hear the acoustic alignment they arranged themselves in was a fairly new challenge the quartet had ventured into. Taking a whirl through our latest 3 song set you wouldn't know it though. The band pumps springy life into "Little Games" and "Yes Yes"; two highlights from their recently released EP, Lido. They also stripped things back even more, premiering a reserved duet, "Stray Away", for an audience for the first time. Yes, that means this is only place to hear it. In between, Adam Castilla and Maya Tuttle filled us in on what their life as a band has been like so far, sharing personal anecdotes from recordings and advice gleamed from the likes of Emily Haynes as they learn the ins and outs of being a successful, touring banda privilege this band obviously isn't taking for granted. Have a look and listen to a bright young band we'll be leading the cheering section for in the months to come with this brand new session with our friends, The Colourist.
