EMA paints the town a shade of sludge in this cover from Nirvana's Nevermind. Taking on "Endless, Nameless," the album's hidden track, EMA drafts ear-drum abusive bedlam. High-throttle screaming vocals and relentless heaviness are reprieved by a densely magnetic and familiar bass slithering underneath. Pure oozing feedback, EMA retreats to the esoteric Bay Area and Los Angeles noise scenes that raised her. The cover was originally released earlier this year on Spin's Nevermind tribute compilation, Newermind. It'll get another chance to see the sun on a split 7-inch single with Male Bonding set for January 6 from Rough Trade/Sub Pop. Immerse yourself in the two astute and dirty renditions (Male Bonding does "Aneurysm," the b-side to "Smells Like Teen Spirit") and catch our pared-down acoustic sesh with EMA below.
