has just released his new song, "Orange Color Queen." Along with the new song comes the announcement of his new self-titled album, set to drop January 27th, 2017, which will be his second self-titled album (the first was released in 2008).
"Orange Color Queen" is a rare vulnerable moment in Segall's discography and differs from his past noise-rock sound greatly. Almost never writing about love, Segall explained the Beatles-esque track to NPR
, "This is a love song for my girlfriend, Dene, I've written her many, but I think this is my favorite. I travel around the world for a living and have developed a slight fear of flying. She's one of the things that makes it better for me to travel. Especially when she is with me. She has orange hair, and is my orange color queen. I rarely write songs like this, because it is so easy to sound disingenuous, but I think this one is pretty good."
