When I first listened to "On Fire," from Texas-based singer-songwriter Luke Wade
, I was immediately mesmerized by his passionate, smooth-yet-slightly-crackling vocals. And of course that makes sense, because he recently appeared on Season 7 of NBC's The Voice
(rightfully so, because have you heard his voice?). Wade bounces back and forth between both Americana and pop influences, delivering accessible hooks with a slight twang. "On Fire" is off of his third full-length album, Only Ghosts,
which will be released in January 2017.
"'On Fire' is a song about passion partially written in a dream," says Wade. "I was singing the chorus in my sleep and woke up and immediately started finishing the song. I'm particularly excited about this song because it mixes some of my most ambitious vocal work with a modern production that I had never tried before, and I can't wait for the world to hear it!"
