    Brooklyn indie rockers, and one of our CMJ favorites, We Are Augustines have released a new single off of their debut album Rise Ye Sunken Ships. The track, "Headlong Into The Abyss," tells the tragic story of singer Billy McCarthy's brother trying to out run not only the cops, but his own fate. "It's a refusal to comply with doctors, police and the dregs of small-town life," McCarthy said. "The song seeks to envision the moments of exhilaration at taking a stand against authority, and driving hard and fast away from one's fate."

    The song itself features McCarthy's raspy delivery over propulsive drums and a soaring organ line. "Call whoever you want, but I want stop the guitar," McCarthy sings as the song hits it's climax, showing us that he want stop the music either.
