You might be looking for some happy music to distract you from the fact that today is Monday, but I'm here to tell you that over here in Brooklyn it is cold, rainy, and gloomy, so that means we're listening to some cold, rainy, gloomy music. Let's embrace the sadness that is caused by Monday. #MoodyMonday, if you will.
The song we're enhancing today's sunless melancholy with is Two Feet
's "I Feel Like I'm Drowning." The title should be enough to foreshadow what you're about to hear. The angsty song encompasses the more angsty side of Brazil-born, New York-raised artist Bill Dess. "You're so plastic and that's tragic," he sings in the second verse, later moving to "my life's okay, yeah, just when you're not around me," in the bridge. Is he dedicating this song to Monday? Because yes, life is so great on any other day. Sonically, the music is sultry and quite dark too, with the use of an acoustic guitar and a buzzing synth.
Two Feet recently released his debut EP First Steps
and is now getting ready for his first North American headlining tour, set to kick off in January 2018.
