The Japanese House
, aka Amber Bain, just released her dreamy new EP Swim Against the Tide.
In an array of electronic effects, oddities, and chilling lethargic vocals, Bain showcases characteristics and sounds that seem to pull from artists such as Imogen Heap, The 1975 (whom is actually a frequent collaborator), and Vancouver Sleep Clinic. What's slightly different is that Bain seems to be experimenting with new rhythms, opting for more upbeat tempos compared to her previous EPs (re: Pools to Bathe In
). It's no doubt that you'll want to curl up in bed with a steaming cup of tea and a good book when listening to this EP.
Bain is set to appear as a special guest with British rock band, The 1975, this coming December on their UK tour. We're sure it'll be a night of dreamy and dazes and nostalgia.
