LA's The New Division
(who kind of sound like the old Division of the '80s with a California electronic sheen) take a dose of "Opium" from their new record Shadows
and infuse some Quiet Lights
, and suddenly the 1984 dance-floor ready track is chopped and screwed for the modern club. It's a slow-burning bass high, fit for the hallucinogenic properties of its namesake. Quiet Lights took the new wave and calmed it down to more of a subtle undertoe. We dig it.
is out now. Grab both the remix and the original track below, and check out the band's recently released video for Shadows
cut "True Lies" (not starring Arnold, unfortunately). And catch Quiet Lights at CMJ this year... they play an official showcase on 10/22.
