Starting out with a rowdy rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner," The Weeks
' new video for "Bottle Rocket," which we're premiering here today, quickly turns into a whole lot of fun. The Nashville band shows us a little snapshot of their city's rock scene and enlists their friends Diarrhea Planet, Rayland Baxter, The Lonely Biscuits, Okey Dokey, Birdcloud, and H.A.R.D. for a friendly round of go kart. The video also features shots of people partying, drinking, eating hot dogs, and playing with gym equipment. Basically, making this video was just an excuse to throw one epic party. Guitarist Sam Williams confirmed this when he told us, "we started writing this song at Rosepepper over three pitchers of margs and Cyle sang me the hook. Everybody has that loose cannon friend that's got big ideas and is as likely to explode as they are to implode. With the video, it just seemed like a super fun day and great way to get a free day of go-kart racing with our friends."
The song is off the band's latest album Easy
, which was released earlier this year on Lightning Rod Records.
