Legendary angst (and drug) driven rock god Kurt Cobain has released a new single. Well, he
didnt release it, but Sappy (an early version of an "unreleased" Nirvana song; Nirvana fans know how loose that term is) is set to appear on Cobains Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings,
an album comprised of covert jams found while working on the Cobain documentary Montage of Heck
. Its not Nirvana; so "Teen Spirit" fans can take a seat. But it is a glimpse into the dark, and slightly euphoric cavern that is Kurt Cobains mind.
Over a low-distortion plucking of strings, Kurt whines with sadness. Cobain says in a conversational tone, Ill keep you in my room, Im sure that will make you happy. While listeners can literally taste the grief in Sappy, we'restill pretty happy that theres new music to hear from the grunge icon weve seen go through the bad and the good. But to reiterate, heres a taste of the bad. Thats really good.
